If you enjoy working with children and have time during the school day to come in and help, we would love to have you join us as a library volunteer this school year!
We will be doing all volunteer sign-ups through an online system, which will cap the number of volunteers we will accept for each class at the number the librarians have determined is appropriate and most useful during each particular class time. Some classes are grouped together for volunteer shifts, so please note the time of the slot you choose - some slots are 30 minutes and some are 60 minutes.
If you are interested in becoming a library volunteer you may sign up now for a weekly shift at the following link http://signup.com/go/RwEibeT. Keep in mind that we only have the first week of school open to view at this time to make it simpler to sign up, but you are committing to the full school year of volunteering by signing up for a shift.
Volunteers are all expected to come to a training session this year - both new AND returning. This will help the librarians make sure everyone knows the new changes to the library and gets a good refresher on the basics to start the year off on the right foot. You can sign up for a training session on the online sign-up sheet. Trainings will be TBD
We train all of our library volunteers to help with:
All volunteers must also complete the volunteer background clearance process. It is available online at https://issaquahvolunteers.hrmplus.net/. Tip: At the end of the application, it will ask you to scan your driver’s license. If you do not have a scanner you may take a picture of your driver’s license with your phone and sent it to your computer to add to the system.
Our volunteers make our library a wonderful place for the children and we could not do everything we do without your help! Thank you for considering volunteering in the library. The students always enjoy having parent volunteers during their library time each week!
If you have questions please email our Library Volunteer Coordinator: Nova Featherstone
